The purpose of blogs are: To Entertain, Persude, Inform.

Well in class the other day, my teacher was talking about what is the main purpose of have a blog.
  • When to inform, you're representing information that the reader is interested in.
  • When to persuade, the writer tries to convince the read of fact or point of view.
  • When to entertain, creates an emotion in the readers.

To Inform: Bloglockers are to inform sport fans about upcoming games, and reviews. Like how Steve Jobs died yesterday. How it shocked millions of the Apple nation.
Eurogamer is to inform players or gamers about updates, new released games and contests. By signing up to this site you'll get weekly updates.

To Persuade: Gizmodo is a site where they try selling or informing new gadgets. If you would sign up for this site you would get new updates about upcoming releases in the electronic business markets.
Popeater is a news like site persuading viewers to become members. Sending news from Canada, U.S.A., and U.K. Its sort of getting new around the world from one site, I'm not including Google on this. This site contains celebrities from around the countries.

To Entertain: Slashfilm is "blogging for reel world", meaning . Slashfilm is a site that gives you news, reviews, trailers, calendar, /Filmcast, and cool stuff (If you do go onto this site).
1000awsomethings site that would entertain you the best. It gives you tips, games or random things you might want to do.

I'm having a tough time to understand the meanings of each of these main reasons to have a blog.
